Happy Birthday!!

Last Saturday, my grandfather turned 100 years and, needless to say, all the family celebrated such an event. We went to a small city called Molina de Aragón (in the center of Spain, more or less) and around fifty relatives gathered in order to pay tribute to this little man (because of his height). A nephew sang a traditional folk song and made the lyrics up for him; in return, my granpa spent four minutes reciting a poem he had learnt when he was young (what a good memory he has!). Some other relatives gave him a commemorative plaque and made a very moving speech. They emphasized my grandfather's virtue to make sacrifices for his family. My dad also sang but his voice broke now and them because he was very moved.
At night, back at home, my grand father said to us, "Bad times do not last a hundred years, nor good times. There are many things for you to see yet". He is soooo right...

  1. Congratulations to your granddad and blessings to you all. My gram made it to nearly 100 and it was so wonderful to share all the years and memories with her!
